Zylstra in danger of being cut?

Minnesota’s first unofficial depth chart didn’t have a ton of surprises, but how some of the backup wide receivers are listed is definitely one of the more interesting takeaways from it.

Listed as the Vikings’ fifth and sixth receivers on their unofficial depth chart are Laquon Treadwell and Jeff Badet. Second-year pass-catcher Brandon Zylstra is actually listed behind both Treadwell and Badet on the depth chart.

This is a bit of a shock considering how Zylstra made Minnesota’s final roster last season, but apparently he’s been struggling a bit during this year’s training camp. So maybe his position on the unofficial depth chart shouldn’t be so surprising after all.

Zylstra has plenty of time to pass Treadwell and Badet on the depth chart before the Vikings have to make their final cuts. But he will need to step up his performance in practice if he wants to remain in Minnesota this year.
