Trey Adams – OT (Washington)

The Vikings apparently are fans of Washington, as they take back-to-back Huskies in this mock draft.

There is no question the Vikings will be looking for their left tackle of the future in the 2020 NFL Draft. Riley Reiff is getting up there in age and he only has a few years remaining on his contract. He is still an above-average left tackle, but his play is beginning to decline ever so slightly.  It would be reassuring for Minnesota to have his replacement on the roster for when they need it.

Trey Adams is a good looking tackle prospect with massive size (6-foot-8, 327 pounds). Adams plays physical football with a mean streak that attacks his man until the whistle sounds. He is solid in both pass protection and the run game and he can get to the second level quickly.

The biggest issue with Adams is his durability. He has missed a lot of time in his college career and that is a big reason why he could be available for the Vikings when it comes time for them to use their third-round pick.

At this point in the draft, rolling the dice on Adams would be worth it.  He could learn from Reiff for a season and not be rushed into action. If he can find a way to stay healthy when he turns pro, he has all the talent to become Minnesota’s starting left tackle of the future.
