Jeff Gladney is playing out of his mind right now. The TCU standout accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl last week and he played well in an overtime loss to Baylor.

Gladney is flying up draft boards and he is trending towards being a first-round selection in April. He is certainly playing at an unreal level right now, but the market for cornerbacks is dependent on which team is on the clock.

Gladney – listed at 6-feet, 185 pounds – is a bit slim, but he has length in his favor. 2019 has been his best season with the Horned Frogs. In nine games, he has one interception and 12 pass deflections.

Gladney is an aggressive defender in all areas of the game. He comes in to help against the run and is a good tackler after the catch. His long-range speed limits the risk of the offense taking the top off the defense and his length helps disrupt routes at the line. His aggression shows a lot when he jumps routes, which is good and bad.

When he is right, Gladney makes big plays. When he misses, the offense takes full advantage. He has cleaned up his footwork a ton in 2019 and that is arguably my favorite part of his game. His feet are quick and crisp off the snap and that gives him a bit of an advantage to attack the receiver.

The Vikings will be dealing with a ton of questions at cornerback after this season. If they want to add another early in the draft, Gladney is worth considering.
