The best thing – Here comes the Boone!

Let’s be honest here, The passing offense of the Minnesota Vikings without Kirk Cousins, Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, and Kyle Rudolph along with both starting offensive tackles couldn’t get much done. The team only had 126 passing yards with two interceptions in the game.

Thank goodness the run game was working. Mike Boone had an average of 8.7 yards per carry against the Bears, totaling 148 yards on 17 carries with one touchdown. It’s a bit surprising he didn’t get more work in the game but was likely being punished for not being able to corral a wild pitch from quarterback Sean Mannion in the first quarter.

Of course, Boone was filling in for Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison, both of whom sat this game out. That duo also missed last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers, allowing Boone a little more time to shine in a bigger role.

Boone added two catches for 12 yards, bringing his offensive yardage total to 160 yards on the day. Not bad for a player who wasn’t expected to have much of an impact at all during the 2019 NFL season.
