The best thing – Overcoming the odds

Normally, the “best thing” in these articles focus on a specific part of the team. Whether it is a great performance by a player, a unit’s dominance, or an individual play, the focus is usually narrow. But that’s not how this game worked out.

Coming into this game, the media was extremely noisy about the Saints. A vast majority of analysts picked New Orleans to win, and most of those by double-digits. Now, that narrative has to change.

Winning a game at the Superdome is hard enough, but the Saints are an extremely talented team with weapons all over the field on offense, defense, and special teams. The fact the Vikings were able to come up with a gameplan to neutralize this explosive team.

Kirk Cousins hasn’t had a signature win? Well, there you go. The Vikings didn’t beat a team with a winning record? Not anymore. This game ended many negative trends analysts and fans used to count the Minnesota Vikings out. But now, those aren’t valid anymore.
