Anthony Barr – LB

Barr has been very good for the Vikings this season. He’s had a very Barr-esque season with 79 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception. He’s coming off an eight tackle performance against the Saints that helped keep Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray in check. Barr had a great game, but he’ll need to be even better against the 49ers.

The Vikings need Anthony Barr to explode versus the 49ers. Hopefully, with the 49ers concentrating on Hunter and Griffen, Mike Zimmer can unleash him on some blitzes. Jimmy Garrapolo wouldn’t see it coming and it could be a prime chance to create a fumble.

Barr will also need to be solid in coverage. The 49ers roll with a three-headed monster at running back and all three are excellent pass catchers. They also have one of the best tight ends in the NFL in George Kittle who Barr could find himself tasked with covering. Barr also has to be ready for Deebo Samuel. The 49ers use this guy in a plethora of ways and could try to isolate him on Barr, especially if he lines up in the backfield.

Last week, guys like Xavier Rhodes, Danielle Hunter, and Everson Griffen elevated their play to help get the Vikings the win. This week it’s Barr’s turn.
