Trevon Diggs – CB (Alabama)

The brother of standout Vikings receiver Stefon, Trevon Diggs had a sensational campaign for the Crimson Tide last season before suffering a foot injury that hampered his progress. Despite his injury, the younger Diggs will still be a hot commodity during the draft and he may not even last until Minnesota makes their first pick.

After originally starting his college career as a receiver, Alabama head coach Nick Saban moved Diggs to the secondary. The switch produced instant results thanks in no small part to his superb commitment in adjusting to a new position and his flawless technique.

Although it seems inconceivable to some that the Vikings would draft another corner in the first round this year, the simple fact is Trae Waynes has been inconsistent, Mike Hughes is injury prone, and Xavier Rhodes may not be on the roster much longer.

This makes it a position of considerable need for Minnesota and who they select in the first round is a decision that they must get right after so many disappointing high picks in recent years.
