8 players who should be on the Vikings’ free agency wish list for 2020

Yannick Ngakoue – DE
Everson Griffen has been a staple on the Vikings defense ever since Mike Zimmer took over as the team’s head coach in 2014.
During his six seasons under Zimmer, Griffen has racked up 57 sacks and he’s earned four trips to the Pro Bowl. His leadership in Minnesota’s locker room is something that shouldn’t be understated either as it’s played a valuable part in the team’s defense transforming into one of the NFL’s best since 2014.
Despite remaining with the Vikings for his entire 10-year career, it’s possible that Griffen might have played his last snap in a purple and gold jersey. He’s 32-years-old now and he might only have one or two more decent seasons left in him.
So if Minnesota ends up needing a replacement for Griffen this offseason, Yannick Ngakoue would be a perfect choice.
Not only will Ngakoue be just 25-years-old by the start of next season, but he is one of the best young pass rushers in the league. During the last four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he started 62 games, accumulated a total of 37.5 sacks, and forced a whopping 14 fumbles.
Just imagine a Vikings defensive line featuring Ngakoue and Danielle Hunter lining up on the ends. Opposing offensive linemen would have nightmares just thinking about it.
