Ezekiel Ansah

Former Seahawks defensive end Ezekiel Ansah is another that might warrant consideration from the Vikings this offseason if the price is right.

He is more than capable of wreaking havoc against any NFL offensive line when he is in the mood. Ansah is a ferocious pass-rusher that possesses a great burst when getting off the block.

Eyebrows were raised when the Detroit Lions selected the raw prospect with the fifth pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and some would argue he is still trying to work out certain elements of his game to reach the next level.

Detroit’s patience with Ansah that flattered to deceive during his time with the franchise ended last spring when he penned a one-year deal with Seattle.

He managed to appear in 11 games for the Seahawks last season and he enjoyed mixed success that might not be enough to earn him a long-term deal with a team this year.

Although Ansah’s powers are visibly on the decline, he might be a good pickup for the Vikings if Mike Zimmer opts to go with a more rotational look opposite Danielle Hunter at the defensive end position.

Having a powerful presence like Ansah to call upon would be very useful and especially if he is not relied upon to be an every-down end. Keeping him fresh alongside Ifeadi Odenigbo might be the best way to go if Minnesota cannot afford a top-tier free agent or justify using a high-end NFL Draft pick on the position.
