4 free-agent punters the Vikings could sign in 2020

Britton Colquitt
Last year, Britton Colquitt was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings. Not only did he solidify the punting game last season, but he took over the job as holder to clean up what was one of the shakiest and most questionable duties for Minnesota in 2018.
Even though Colquitt only ranked 19th in yards per punt last season, he was first in touchback percentage. When punting, distance isn’t everything and booming one into the end zone can do quite a bit more damage than a shanked kick could ever have done.
Even better is that Colquitt has made fans forget about some of the issues the Vikings were having with their holders. Bringing Colquitt back would mean Minnesota would still have an experienced holder to give the team sound of mind in that aspect of field goal kicking.
Continuity, familiarity, and confidence should be reason enough, but the amazing thing is that Colquitt only had a cap hit of $645,000 and an overall salary of $930,000 last year. Even if the Vikings were to raise these figures for the next season, bringing him back would be an absolute blessing and the right move for the franchise.
