With Stefon Diggs no longer a member of the Vikings, Adam Thielen, Bisi Johnson, and Chad Beebe are the top guys who are left on the team’s wide receiver depth chart.

If Minnesota is going to select someone from their own roster to be their No. 2 receiver in 2020, then it’s likely going to be between Johnson and Beebe. Alexander Hollins could emerge as a potential candidate this summer, but he still seems like a long shot at this point to win the role.

Between Johnson and Beebe though, the edge has to go to Johnson. He was a rookie last season and his expectations were fairly low considering he was a seventh-round draft pick.

Despite falling to the final round of the draft and not being among the guys Kirk Cousins would look to first when dropping back to pass, Johnson still finished last year with the 11th-most catches among rookie receivers.

It’s not hard to imagine him taking another step forward in 2020. Whether he ends up with the No. 2 receiver role or not for, Johnson will likely have a bigger role in the Vikings offense next season no matter what.
