Add a free agent

If the Vikings aren’t satisfied with the current receivers on their roster, they could turn to the free-agent market to find a new pass-catcher.

Given their lack of funds right now though, Minnesota likely won’t be landing any of the top free-agent receivers who are still looking for a team. So the Vikings probably won’t be giving Emmanuel Sanders or Robby Anderson a call anytime soon as much as some might like to see this happen.

Some of the remaining free-agent receivers Minnesota could target include Taylor Gabriel, Travis Benjamin, Demarcus Robinson, Tavon Austin, Tajae Sharpe, and possibly Josh Gordon.

Not exactly a murderer’s row of options to choose from. So if the Vikings want to add one of the pricier free-agent receivers who are still available like Sanders or Anderson, they’re going to need to clear some more cap space.

But does Minnesota want to invest a significant amount of money in a new receiver this year who might not end up being a good fit in their offense? It’s a potential outcome they must consider when figuring out how to fill the void left by Stefon Diggs.
