How can the Vikings acquire Lamb?

Much will depend on where CeeDee Lamb goes as to whether or not the Vikings can move up and draft the wide receiver.

He is projected to go anywhere from pick No. 8 to the late teens after a sensational junior year and subsequent evaluation process. Minnesota is going to have to move up to land the player, there is no question of that. This will require a significant package to another team to entice them to part ways with their high pick and one-up another franchise that is also aiming to draft Lamb.

Minnesota will not want to part ways with both of their two first-round picks in order to secure Lamb. They have a considerable need for reinforcements at the cornerback position and this draft is pretty deep at the top end regarding prospects.

This is something the Vikings cannot ignore, regardless of how much they like any potential replacement for Stefon Diggs. The organization also needs to get younger on the interior of the offensive line and give quarterback Kirk Cousins more time to go through his progressions due to his lack of mobility.

Trading up is always risky, but Lamb has an incredibly high upside and he should be a day-one starter in the NFL. He possesses a rare game-changing ability and he would instantly fill the void left by Diggs.

If Lamb falls out of the top 10, then maybe the Vikings can offer pick No. 22, their second-rounder, and a sixth-rounder to move up and snag the player. This would be an enticing offer for anybody looking to move down and secure additional selections.
