Trent Williams – LT (Washington Redskins)

Trent Williams wants to continue his career in the NFL, but he doesn’t want it to be with the Redskins. Williams has requested Washington either release him or trade him and neither has yet to happen.

The Vikings could use an upgrade at left tackle since the Riley Reiff experiment hasn’t really worked out. Acquiring Williams would provide an immediate boost to Minnesota’s offensive line.

The unit made strides last season, but the Vikings still need to make some improvements. Minnesota trading for Williams would be a much better option than rolling with Reiff for another year or hoping a young tackle from the draft can solve their problems.

Williams has experience in the type of zone-blocking offense the Vikings run and he’s also a former teammate of Kirk Cousins. It might take a first-round pick to acquire the veteran left tackle and since Minnesota has two of those now, it could be easier for them to part with one in order to land someone like Williams in a trade.
