4 CFL players who could land with the Minnesota Vikings

Micah Johnson – DT
The Vikings might be in the market for another defensive tackle to provide depth after Michael Pierce opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 health concerns. One interior defensive lineman that catches the eye from the CFL is Micah Johnson.
The imposing defensive tackle has been a prolific presence during his seven-year stint in the CFL. During his tenure in Canada, he’s made the all-star team on three occasions, and he has also appeared in three Grey Cup games.
Johnson has the ability to make a difference when it matters most. He is a prominent force in the run game and he has also proven more than capable of getting into the opposing backfield consistently.
Putting this all together in the NFL is a completely different ball game. Johnson has not really had a chance to showcase what he has to offer at the professional level. But one opportunity is all he needs.
This is an area of the field that has undergone considerable changes in Minnesota this offseason. The team lost the services of Pro Bowler Linval Joseph to the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency and Everson Griffen also decided to take his chances elsewhere after a glittering spell with the franchise.
More might be needed to keep them competitive and few would argue that Johnson is not deserving of at least a tryout somewhere.
