The Minnesota Vikings made the decision to move their offices from Winter Park to Eagan for the 2018 NFL season and construct a new base of operations including practice fields, training facilities, team museum, and management/coaching headquarters.

Now tabbed as Viking Lakes, plans for the area are expanding at an alarming rate. Hotels are being constructed and the Eagan area is blossoming with the energy of sports and all the technology to help any franchise succeed.

In fact, Viking Lakes has already drawn the attention of the United States Curling Association, who will be making the move from Stephen’s Point, Wisconsin to the home of the Minnesota Vikings according to WCCO CBS Minnesota.

Why is it exciting for curling to join the Minnesota Vikings at Viking Lakes?

The curling team will be competing at the 2022 Olympics in Bejing. These gold medal hopefuls will have a facility close to state-of-the-art health care at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center at the campus’ Innovation Center.

USA Curling CEO Jeff Plush is particularly excited about the move as well as bringing excitement about curling to the Twin Cities

"“The move to the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area opens the door for exciting new opportunities and increased exposure as interest continues to grow in the sport of curling,” Plush said."

When the Minnesota Vikings made the move to Viking Lakes, the team committed to having a modern campus to handle all of their needs. While that is great for the team, it is also an amazing opportunity for Eagan to draw other top-class sporting organizations to the area to share the amazing facility.

Best of luck to the United States Curling Association in 2022 as they compete for gold at the Olympic Games. In the meantime, the team can rest assured knowing they have all the advantages the Minnesota Vikings have on the campus of Viking Lakes to prepare for action.
