3 favorable matchups for the Vikings in Week 6 vs. the Panthers

Vikings DBs vs. Panthers passing attack
The Carolina Panthers lead the NFC with seven turnovers through five weeks, including six interceptions thrown by Sam Darnold. He has only thrown six touchdown passes as well, making for a favorable ratio for a defensive backfield that has struggled to consistently make splash plays the past two seasons.
The secondary in Minnesota has been better over the past two weeks, but they still have not done anything spectacular. Harrison Smith has not quite been his old self and Bashaud Breeland has been a disaster on the outside. Someone needs to step up this week and spark a shift on defense.
Patrick Peterson and Cam Dantzler have been solid at cornerback but have not recorded an interception yet this season. I think there’s a good chance that changes this weekend, especially if the pass rush can force Sam Darnold into some bad throws.
Minnesota will need to limit the run game and keep Christian McCaffrey from tearing them apart first and foremost. As long as he does not single-handedly win the game for the Panthers, the Vikings’ defense should be happy. This is a good test for them after nearly choking the game against the Lions.
