Vikings RBs vs. Panthers run defense

The Panthers have been borderline elite defensively this season aside from one game. They have not allowed more than 207 yards passing in any game and have only allowed one team to rush for over 100 yards so far this season.

In fact, the Panthers are second in the NFL in total defense after allowing just 1,279 total yards and rank third in points allowed with 87. The only team that had any sort of success against the Panthers’ defense this season has been the Dallas Cowboys, who racked up 433 yards of offense and 36 points.

Minnesota and Dallas can have similar success against Carolina, thanks to how their offenses are set up. Whether Dalvin Cook plays a normal amount of snaps on Sunday or not, the Vikings will have some big runs that help set up the deep passing attack. Alexander Mattison has done a fine job when filling in for the injured Cook.

The Cowboys rushed for 245 yards against the Panthers in Week 4 while no other team has gone over 91 yards, and three of the other four have failed to even reach 50 yards rushing as a team. The Vikings love to run the ball early and often, so this will be a huge factor in this matchup.
