The running back two-step

This has been a rough start to the season for Dalvin Cook. The Minnesota Vikings star running back has missed two games due to injury and has found the end zone only once this season through the first five weeks.

At one point, he was among the league leaders in rushing. He is averaging 4.4 yards per rushing attempt and adding an average of 8.2 yards per reception to that, bringing his total output on 74 carries and 11 catches to 444 yards.

It appears as though Cook will return to the lineup in Week 6 against the Panthers, but Carolina will be without their star in the backfield since Christian McCaffrey has been ruled out for the game already.

This shifting of power at the running back position is a huge advantage for the Vikings. Even though Alexander Mattison has played well in Cook’s absence, there is nothing like having the team’s speedy and dynamic starter back to make opposing defenses worried.
