4 sneaky threats the Vikings must contain at the Panthers in Week 6
By Dean Jones
Terrace Marshall Jr. – WR
The Carolina Panthers went against the grain when they selected Terrace Marshall Jr. at No. 59 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. There wasn’t a real need for the team to select a wide receiver at this stage given their options, but those in power felt the LSU product represented significant value later in the second round.
It was a slow process earlier in the offseason for Marshall, who was working his way back from injury during initial workouts before leaving a notable impression in training camp and during preseason games.
However, this hasn’t translated into production in a competitive environment as yet. Although this doesn’t have much to do with his ability to create separation.
There will be some added motivation for Marshall in this one. He’s coming up against former Tigers teammate Justin Jefferson, with the pair playing a leading role in LSU’s national championship-winning campaign in 2019.
The Minnesota Vikings will prioritize keeping both D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson quiet in the passing game. But they should not ignore Marshall, who has the size, speed, and ball skills to make his presence felt if afforded enough space.
