Greg Joseph – K

Greg Joseph was the hero last week against the Lions but became the goat in Carolina. Joseph hit the game-winner against the Lions but almost blew his second game of the season for the Vikings with multiple misses against the Panthers.

Joseph had a chance to put the Vikings up by 14 with four minutes to play. This would’ve basically iced the game as the Panthers would’ve had to drive the length of the field twice to tie the game. His kick went very wide right and it gave the Panthers new life, and of course, they drove down the field and kicked a field goal of their own.

After the Panthers tied the game, Kirk Cousins masterfully drove the team down the field and got them into field goal range. Joseph lined up for the game-winning kick and again pushed the ball very wide to the right. The Vikings got the ball first in overtime and there was no way Cousins was going to let Joseph try again and instead hit KJ Osborn for the game-winning score.

Greg Joseph has been very inconsistent this season. The Vikings aren’t likely going to make a change because, in all honesty, it probably doesn’t really matter who kicks for this team, the curse is real and this will always be an issue for the Purple. Nevertheless, it was still disappointing to see Joseph have two opportunities to put this game away, and he failed at both.
