Bashaud Breeland – CB

Before the injury to Patrick Peterson, trading Bashaud Breeland seemed like a transaction that would have made sense. Breeland didn’t seem happy in Minnesota and was struggling to find his groove in his first three games with the Vikings.

That has changed. Through his last three games, he has seemingly regained his confidence and has played at a high level. That said, he still needs to make a start without Patrick Peterson across from him to shut down the opposition.

Cameron Dantzler is the most likely candidate to be inserted into the lineup for Peterson. The only question is how the team feels about their depth with Mackensie Alexander, Kris Boyd, and Harrison Hand.

If they like their options at cornerback and receive an offer for Breeland that makes sense, Spielman could pull the trigger. Considering he is on a one-year deal worth $3 million and may leave in free agency after the season, trading a player like Breeland when his value is high is something Minnesota would have to consider.
