Second Round (No. 46 overall)

Kingsley Enagbare – EDGE (South Carolina)

When the Vikings drafted Danielle Hunter, and he emerged onto the scene as quickly as he did, they did not anticipate pass rusher being a position they would need to address very often. However, after back-to-back season-ending injuries, the team has found out rather quickly the depth behind him is less than ideal.

Both James Lynch and D.J. Wonnum have shown flashes at times throughout their early NFL career but have yet to show those flashes consistently every week, and while the jury is still out on 2021 draft picks Patrick Jones and Janarius Robinson, the team needs a difference-maker on the edge to cause havoc in the NFC North, especially if Hunter can’t come back 100 percent healthy.

Senior Bowl invite, Kingsley Enagbare, is a player that is rising up the draft board tremendously as of late and could go late round one if he has a great week in Mobile. Enagbare will be highly coveted because of his superb athletic profile and great size.

He offers incredible versatility to be able to play off the edge as a 3-technique in a 4-3 or as a true defensive end in a 3-4. He also has shown great burst and a quick first step, both standing up and with his hand in the dirt off the edge while winning with a variety of pass rush combinations with his hands.

If he makes it to the middle of the second round, a pass rush needy team like Minnesota will have gotten a dynamic playmaker a little later than he is expected to be available.

Other players that could be available: Carson Strong – QB (Nevada), Sean Rhyan – OT (UCLA), Jermaine Johnson III -EDGE (Florida State), Brandon Smith – LB (Penn State)
