Cedrick Wilson

2021 Team: Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys offense is headlined by a trio of star wide receivers including Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup. Gallup is set to be a free agent this season, as is Cedrick Wilson, an under-the-radar receiver that stepped up in a major way last season.

Wilson saw an expanded role in 2021 as he played in 16 games with four starts, resulting in 602 yards and six touchdowns. He caught three balls for 84 yards and a touchdown as the Cooper Rush-led Cowboys upset the Vikings in Week 8.

He also caught seven passes for 104 yards in a Week 12 loss to the Raiders when Cooper and Lamb were out of the lineup. He showed that he could be the guy when he needs to be and his long-area speed is something that will keep him in the league for a while.

The expectation for Wilson would be to take the top off the defense as a deep threat and create some manufactured touches for him to pick up chunk gains as a rotational piece. He can also contribute on special teams as a returner and gunner, which cannot be overvalued.

Cedrick Wilson was at the bottom of the depth chart of a loaded offense for the past two seasons. If he lands elsewhere in free agency, he could become a valuable weapon. I think he would be a great option as the WR3 with the Vikings with Osborn and Smith-Marsette filling in behind him.
