Kris Boyd – CB

Grade: C

Kris Boyd broke onto the Vikings’ roster as a special teamer. The guy proved to be an excellent gunner and was often the first man making the hit on the returner. He also would get very excited over these hits and brought a little energy to the Vikings’ sidelines.

Over the next season, Boyd started getting worked into the defense, where he has had mixed results. Boyd sometimes is in excellent position and makes a play on the ball. Other times he doesn’t even look back for the ball and usually runs into his man, drawing a flag.

The Vikings have gotten some decent return out of this seventh-round investment. Boyd has started six games in his career, with three pass breakups, a forced fumble, three tackles for a loss, and 82 total tackles. He’ll compete to make the team again in 2022, and maybe a new coaching staff can get him to be more consistent in his coverage.

Dillon Mitchell – WR

Grade: F

Not much to say about Mitchell. He was on the practice squad as a rookie but didn’t make the final 53 in year two, and no other team even claimed him.

Bisi Johnson – WR

Grade: B

Bisi Johnson has turned out to be one of the better seventh-round picks of the Rick Spielman tenure. He’s kind of the Alexander Mattison of the receiver corps, only being asked to contribute sparingly, but when his number is called, he performs.

Bisi had 31 receptions as a rookie for 294 yards and three touchdowns. He had 14 the following season for 189 yards. The guy has some of the most reliable hands on the team and is a smooth and patient route runner who can find the open zones in a defense.

Johnson missed all of 2021 with an injury and his place on the team with a new regime in town is murky. He will be in the mix to compete for a spot on the depth chart in 2022, and if he does get cut, he likely won’t last long on the waiver wire.
