    • 30-years-old
  • 2021 Stats (with Denver Broncos):
    • 16 games

    • 119.8 passer rating allowed when targeted

For the first time since 2013, the Vikings will be running a brand-new defensive scheme when they take the field for their Week 1 matchup next season.

Ed Donatell will reportedly be Minnesota’s new defensive coordinator for the 2022 campaign. Before taking the job with the Vikings, Donatell spent 2019 to 2021 as the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator, and he spent 2015 to 2018 as the Chicago Bears secondary coach.

So when it comes to free-agent corners this year, Kyle Fuller is someone that Donatell is very familiar with. Fuller was on the Bears’ roster during Donatell’s entire tenure with the team and the veteran corner spent last season with the Broncos.

Fuller is a solid, experienced cornerback that probably isn’t going to be too pricey for the Vikings to land. If Donatell doesn’t think Patrick Peterson is going to fit well in Minnesota’s new defensive scheme next season, then he might give his old friend Fuller a call to see if he wants to play in the Twin Cities.
