After four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Ahkello Witherspoon wound up signing a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks in free agency during the 2021 offseason.
Before he could even play in a regular-season game for the Seahawks, however, he was traded to the Steelers in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Witherspoon wasn’t a full-time starter for Pittsburgh in the 2021 season, but he still found a way to make an impact whenever he wound up on the field.
He’s probably not going to cost much to sign this offseason and he showed in 2021 that he still has the ability to play at a high level. So if the Vikings are looking for a low-risk, high-reward type of cornerback in free agency this year, Witherspoon could be their guy.
