Get bigger and stronger at center

Fans of the Minnesota Vikings have to be tired of watching Garrett Bradbury getting pushed around at center. The former first-round pick has struggled to protect quarterback Kirk Cousins and there doesn’t seem to be anyone on the roster who is ready to step in for him.

When the Vikings work their salary cap magic this offseason, they should definitely be looking for an opportunity to trade away Bradbury’s cap hit of $4.1M and looking to find more of an anchor to protect against the bigger and stronger nose tackles in today’s NFL.

Expect Minnesota to research the centers in this draft very closely, especially ones in the early-to-mid rounds. Scouting offensive linemen hasn’t been a strength for the Vikings in the past, but the new regime will hopefully do a much better job at identifying potential long-term starters.

Any guard the Vikings put next to a more stable center will automatically be better. Plus, it sounds as though Wyatt Davis is working hard to get an opportunity to play right guard this season. Being able to plug those two holes would do wonders for this offense.
