Adam Gotsis

2021 Team: Jacksonville Jaguars

Adam Gotsis may not be a household name, but he is definitely someone the Vikings should look at if they are going to bring in a free agent defensive end. The dude has some impressive size at 6-foot-4 and 278 pounds. He moves well for being so big and definitely has the power to beat offensive tackles and force runningbacks inside.

He has done much better against the run in his career than pressuring the quarterback. In his six seasons in the league, he’s amassed 173 total tackles, but just eight sacks. That’s fine, he can be that run-stuffer the Vikings need who can eat up the tackles blocks, and let the outside linebackers get the glory.

Gotsis does have one thing going for him that not everyone on this list does. He’s got ties to new defensive coordinator Ed Donatell. Gotsis was playing end for the Broncos in 2019 when Donatell was the defensive coordinator. Surely he knows what Gotsis can bring to the table, and his experience at defensive end in this new front would be a major plus.

Coaches love being reunited with players they are familiar with and this could be the connection that brings Gotsis to Minnesota.
