Of course, Kirk Cousins is among the options to be the starting quarterback for the Vikings next season since he is, well, still on the team’s roster.
But for as much as Kevin O’Connell and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah have been claiming that they’re excited to work with Cousins as the team’s starter, we have absolutely no idea how this new Minnesota regime functions.
For all we know, Adofo-Mensah and O’Connell could be calling around to other teams to gauge their interest in trading for the veteran quarterback.
But if the Vikings do end up sticking with Cousins, they’ve got to figure out a way to lower his 2022 cap hit. $45 million is just too high for a Minnesota team that is in need of finding additional spending money to fill a number of other holes on their roster.
