Carson Wentz

2021 Team:

  • Indianapolis Colts

2021 Stats (in 17 games):

  • 62.4 percent completion rate
  • 3,563 yards, 27 touchdowns, 7 interceptions
  • 94.6 passer rating, 54.7 QBR
  • No. 23 QB in 2021 by PFF

Carson Wentz is someone that has several similarities to Kirk Cousins in that they both have been able to put up pretty impressive statistics, but their performances typically haven’t translated into success for the rest of the team.

Wentz, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, seems to be on his way out of Indianapolis after just one season. The Colts are likely going to try and trade him, and if they can’t find any takers, then he probably just be released.

Trading Cousins to Indianapolis in exchange for Wentz would only save the Vikings around $6.7 million in cap space, so this doesn’t seem too likely to happen. If the Colts ended up releasing Wentz, however, then Minnesota might be interested in the 29-year-old quarterback since his price tag will be much lower as a free agent.
