Back during the 2014 NFL Draft when the Vikings traded back in the first round to select Teddy Bridgewater, they thought they were using a pick on someone who had the potential to develop into their next great franchise quarterback.
Unfortunately, a severe knee injury derailed Bridgewater’s tenure in Minnesota, and he wound up leaving during the 2018 free agency period.
Since his departure with the Vikings, the 29-year-old quarterback has had stints with the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, and Denver Broncos.
If Minnesota moves on from Kirk Cousins this offseason and they are looking for an affordable starting quarterback who would allow them to build their roster through free agency and the draft while also remaining competitive in 2022, Bridgewater could be their guy.
