Jordan Berry, punter

Sometimes the best free agents you can sign are the ones a team is very familiar with. Jordan Berry was the holder and punter for the Minnesota Vikings last season and is a logical choice to return to the team his offseason.

Berry was an average NFL punter last year. He ranked 17th in average punt yards but had 26 of his 78  punts land inside the 20, tying him for the eighth-best in the league while doing a solid job as a holder for kicker Greg Joseph.

Minnesota does have options when it comes to finding a punter. They could look to a more expensive player or even use one of their late-round draft picks to acquire one, but getting Berry back for close to the league minimum

The Vikings have seen what happens when you can’t pair a good kicker with a good holder. Having at least one of those players locked in for at least another season would be a huge step toward finding a stable special teams unit.
