Andrew Norwell – IOL

2021 Team: Jacksonville Jaguars

The Vikings do need to find a solution at right guard, but they have to be smart about the move. Brandon Scherff would be a game-changing player at that position, but even his cost would be something that turns some folks away. Andrew Norwell is not nearly the player that Scherff is, and his deal might be too similar to even consider.

If the Vikings want to get a star at guard and have a devasting offensive line, then that’s a plan that most fans can get behind. However, spending similar money and getting an inferior player does the team no good for now or the future.

Wyatt Davis is probably going to have a shot at the starting spot after essentially redshirting his rookie season. If he can fill in and be just a slight upgrade over Oli Udoh, the Vikings will be in a very comfortable spot.

This is not to say that Norwell is a bad player. He is going to have a strong market for a reason this offseason, but the Vikings should not be in the mix. They have three young starters on the offensive line that can form a strong unit as a whole.

Interior linemen do not have the positional value that warrants a huge contract, especially when there are enough good linemen already on the roster.
