Will Fuller – WR

2021 Team: Miami Dolphins

The Vikings could benefit from getting a field-stretching receiver to compliment Justin Jefferson at some point this offseason. The draft is going to have some gems that will be in the mix for Minnesota and free agency is a good place to add veterans that can make an immediate impact.

Will Fuller is one of the best vertical threats in the NFL, but the problem is that he is rarely available for his team. The only reason the Vikings invest in a costly wide receiver is to replace the recently-injured Adam Thielen. Will Fuller is the exact wrong candidate to fill that void.

Fuller has never played a full season in his career and has not appeared in more than 11 games since his rookie season. After five injury-plagued seasons with the Texans, Fuller signed with the Dolphins in 2021 and played in just two games.

The NFL loves speed, especially at wide receiver. Fuller can burn the fastest of defenders, but that threat is so hard to bet on, given his history. He has never gone over 1,000 yards while only even reaching 700 yards just once in his career.

For a player that will want to get WR2 money, Fuller has been nothing more than a WR3 and deep speed candidate. With how much the Vikings have dealt with injuries since their NFC Championship run in 2017, they cannot afford to take a chance on a player like Will Fuller.

Any resources spent at wide receiver have to be focused on players that will definitely be able to contribute as soon as they join the roster.
