DeShon Elliott

2021 Team: Baltimore Ravens

DeShon Elliott was one of about 450 Baltimore Ravens to land on IR in 2021, tearing his pec against the Vikings in Week 9.

He is a very under-the-radar target for the Vikings, playing solidly during his time in Baltimore. 2020 was his only full year starting, and he was PFF’s 18th-best safety that season.

A lot of Vikings fans might say, “who?!” if it is announced Elliott signs in Minnesota, but he has been solid in coverage, run defense, and tackling for the most part.

Elliott will be 25 by the time the season starts, so he could be a player yet to fully breakout. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah might find a lot of value in that, and Minnesota would be wise to find untapped potential in younger players this offseason.

Although his contract projection is a one-year deal, there is a world where Elliott plays well and earns himself a long-term extension after coming back healthy.

Minnesota needs more long-term pieces in their secondary, and there is a possibility Elliott could result in that.
