Anthony Harris

2021 Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Hello, familiar face! Anthony Harris took a one-year hiatus from the Vikings, but could very well end up back in Minnesota.

He played 2021 in Philadelphia after six seasons in Minnesota and put forth his worst season as a starter. There are many factors that might have played a part in that, whether it be the Eagles’ defense not suiting him, not benefiting from being next to Harrison Smith, or just getting older.

If it was indeed due to not playing with Smith, the Vikings should be happy to bring him back for cheap. He was the highest-graded safety in the league in 2019. We know he would fit well here, even if it is no longer under Mike Zimmer.

Harris could still be a good player for Minnesota and is an even better person. Ed Donatell could see him as the free safety in his Cover 1 scheme, as that is where he thrived in his first stint in purple.

The Vikings under Mike Zimmer and Rick Spielman seemed to have an affinity for bringing back former defensive players, so maybe this signing could be one last ode to the old regime.
