Once again, the Minnesota Vikings head into the offseason with a concerning cornerback situation. The team has spent plenty of high-end picks on trying to solve this riddle over the years, with most failing to meet expectations and in Jeff Gladney’s case, released following some concerning legal matters he was found not guilty of.

It’s become an ongoing joke that the Vikings will explore first-round cornerbacks. Whether this continues under the new regime is the big question and there is also the possibility of Patrick Peterson being re-signed providing Minnesota can free up enough cap space in the coming days.

Andrew Booth Jr. is expected to be a hot commodity after a standout college career at Clemson. However, if the Vikings are looking for a quick fix alongside Cameron Dantzler, they should approach with caution.

For all Booth’s strengths, his awareness needs some work. There also is room to grow from a power perspective when the corner comes up against wide receivers who will punish every mistake.

Booth isn’t blessed with a lot of college experience, so the Vikings would be betting on traits more than anything. Missed tackles could be another big concern once he gets to the pros, so if Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Garnder or Derek Stingley Jr. is on the board, they should be preferred.
