Latavius Murray – RB

2021 Team: Baltimore Ravens

During the 2017 offseason, the Vikings decided to move on from future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson. In place of Peterson, Minnesota brought in Latavius Murray, formerly of the Oakland Raiders.

Murray was expected to be the Vikings’ No. 1 running back for the 2017 season. But that was before Minnesota decided to use a second-round pick on Dalvin Cook in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The signing of Murray still proved to be valuable for the Vikings in 2017 as the team turned to him to carry the load after Cook suffered a torn ACL just four games into the season. In his first year with Minnesota, Murray appeared in all 16 games, and he rushed for 842 yards and eight touchdowns.

He remained with the Vikings for the 2018 season before he eventually left and signed with the New Orleans Saints during the 2019 offseason.

Last year, the Saints released Murray before the start of the regular season, but he was quickly picked up by the Baltimore Ravens. With the Ravens in 2021, he rushed for 501 yards and six touchdowns.

Murray is definitely nearing the end of his career in the NFL (turned 32-years-old in January), but he could still help a team that is looking to improve the depth of their offensive backfield before the 2022 season.
