2021 Team: Kansas City Chiefs

After an up-and-down last few years in the NFL, former Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon had the opportunity to play an important role for the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2021 playoffs.

Due to injuries to other members of the Chiefs’ offensive backfield, McKinnon ended up getting the chance to start all three of their games during the 2021 postseason.

In these matchups, the former Minnesota running back rushed for 150 yards on 34 carries (4.4 average) while also catching 14 passes for 165 yards and one touchdown.

Was McKinnon’s performance in the playoffs last season enough to earn him a new contract from Kansas City or another team this year?

Considering he’s turning 30 in May and he’s only gained a total of 741 yards from scrimmage since 2018, his time in the league is certainly running out. But it would still be surprising if McKinnon doesn’t at least get the chance to prove to a team this summer that he deserves to remain in the NFL.
