Will Levis (Kentucky)

The Kentucky Wildcats are slowly becoming a force in the SEC on the gridiron. Quarterback Will Levis elevated that team to new heights in his first season after transferring from Penn State in 2021. Levis led Kentucky to a 10-win season that included a Bowl victory over Iowa in January.

Before I can even discuss Levis’ play on the field, I have to throw out the caveat that drafting him does come with one weird problem – he puts mayonnaise in his coffee. Yes, that is real and it is alarming…but Will Levis is the real deal.

Of all the quarterbacks listed so far, Levis is the most likely to make plays with his legs at the next level, though he is not a big-gain runner. He only averaged 3.5 yards per carry last season on 107 attempts but he did accumulate nine rushing touchdowns to go with the 24 that he acquired through the air.

Levis may not put up the flashy numbers but he does an excellent job of leading his team and making plays when it matters most. He flashed a brilliant deep ball and a hard-nosed approach to the run game last season which will be good building blocks for his career.

The thing I am most interested in with Levis will be how he handles the upcoming season without his top target. Wan’Dale Robinson is set to go to the NFL this spring and Levis will need to find another target in that offense that can help him climb up draft boards.

As of right now, Will Levis should not have any first-round expectations or even be in the conversation with some of the other guys in this class. However, when it comes to drafting quarterbacks, there are often gems that can be found later on. Levis falls into that category right now.
