Trimming the WRs on the roster will be tough

Being the individual who needs to decide who makes the 53-man roster for the 2022 NFL season isn’t an enviable job. The Minnesota Vikings have a ton of talent in that group and someone with some skill will likely be on the outside looking in.

Of course, the trio of Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and K.J. Osborn should be considered locks to make the roster. Past that, Ihmir Smith-Marsette seems to be in line for one of those spots. If the Vikings only keep five receivers, that means only one more can make it.

Bisi Johnson got shut out in this game. Meanwhile, rookie Jalen Nailor, special teams ace Dan Chisena, veteran Albert Wilson, Trishton Jackson, and Marvin Mitchell all had over 20 receiving yards in the game. The biggest surprise of the game was how Kellen Mond connected with Albert Wilson for two touchdowns during this game.

It is such a talented group of players that making those final decisions will be extremely tough. Keeping a player based on potential or versatility instead of current ability is a hard balance and one that will hopefully become more apparent before final cuts.
