Team No. 1
Atlanta Falcons
If Kirk Cousins doesn't remain with the Vikings, the Atlanta Falcons seem like the team with the best chance to sign the veteran signal-caller this year.
Of course, this will depend on who the Falcons hire to be their new head coach after they decided to move on from Arthur Smith following the conclusion of the 2023 regular season.
Multiple rumors have indicated that Atlanta will attempt to replace Smith with legendary former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and if this happens, the chances of Cousins signing with the Falcons would likely only increase.
After dealing with Mac Jones as his quarterback for the last few seasons and the fact that the purpose of Atlanta bringing Belichick in would be to compete immediately, they would likely want a more proven option as their starting quarterback than a rookie or Desmond Ridder.
Cousins fits that description, and even if the Falcons don't hire Belichick, Atlanta could still be an option for the current Minnesota quarterback.
Cousins' wife grew up in the Atlanta area, and he's also spent time doing some offseason training in the city in the past. So it's not like the quarterback and his family would be moving to a completely foreign destination.
With offensive weapons like running back Bijan Robinson, tight end Kyle Pitts, and wide receiver Drake London already in place, combined with a defense that made tremendous improvements in 2023, the Falcons seem like a team that could take full advantage of what Cousins has left to offer in his NFL career.
