Ivan Pace Jr. adds to his case to make the team

Undrafted out of Cincinnati this year, rookie linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. has been getting a ton of buzz this summer during Minnesota's training camp. On Thursday night, Pace was able to show the public why he's probably going to end up on the Vikings' final roster this season.

Pace led Minnesota in tackles against the Seahawks with six and he made a number of other notable plays that won't show up on the stat sheet.

The Vikings also gave him the green dot on his helmet to begin the game, which meant that he was in charge of relaying the plays to his teammates out on the field. Something like that makes it seem like the undrafted rookie has already earned a ton of trust from Minnesota's coaching staff.

Ty Chandler takes RB2 lead

Kene Nwangwu didn't play on Thursday due to an injury, so second-year running back Ty Chandler was given the chance to start for the Vikings in their preseason opener against Seattle.

Chandler ended up touching the football more than any other Minnesota skill-position player on Thursday and he made the most of his opportunities. The young running back finished with 70 total yards on 15 touches (4.7 yards per touch), and he also looked solid as a pass protector.

With Nwangwu unable to play, Chandler used Thursday night to take the lead in the battle to open up the regular season as the Vikings' No. 2 running back behind Alexander Mattison.
