Potential Vikings Super Bowl free agent No. 3

Ray-Ray McCloud, WR - 49ers

The Minnesota Vikings will be looking for someone to take over as the team's third receiver if they can't bring back K.J. Osborn or Brandon Powell. However, that wouldn't be the role Ray-Ray McCloud would fill in Minnesota.

McCloud is an accomplished return man who could handle punt and kick return duties as a special teams ace. In seven years in the league, he has struggled as a receiver. He has never surpassed 300 receiving yards in a season.

Although having a roster spot for a specialist who isn't going to be a major contributor in another phase of the game isn't usually a great idea, it is worth kicking the tires on a player who led the league in punt return yards with Pittsburgh in 2021.

The Minnesota Vikings weren't a particularly strong team when it came to punt returns. They were 27th in average yards per punt return at 7.8 yards. McCloud has a career average of 8.5 yards per punt return and could be an immediate upgrade.
