Vikings News: Kirk Cousins reportedly won't get a fully guaranteed deal from Minnesota

Ever since he signed with them in 2018, Kirk Cousins has managed to land a fully guaranteed contract from the Vikings whenever a new deal had been agreed to.

This time, however, it seems like Minnesota and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah are putting their foot down when it comes to increasing Cousins' massive bank account.

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer on Monday, the Vikings have reportedly made it clear to the quarterback and his agent that they are not willing to sign him to a new fully guaranteed contract.

This doesn't mean that Minnesota is unwilling to bring Cousins back for the 2024 season and beyond. They just don't want to commit an excessive amount of guaranteed money to a 35-year-old quarterback who is coming off of a torn Achilles.

Will this ultimately result in Cousins and the Vikings going their separate ways this offseason? It's certainly possible, especially if another team is willing to give the quarterback a fully guaranteed contract this year.
