Matt Kalil may be a big man physically but when it comes to paying off bets…not so much. Disappointing but true. Matt Kalil is a welsher. He had a wager with Chris Kluwe over Saturday’s USC-UCLA game: loser had to do push-ups at midfield of the Rose Bowl after the contest. Kalil’s Trojans lost to Kluwe’s Bruins, but when Kluwe looked for Kalil to make him pay up? Kalil was nowhere to be found.

Kluwe of course made light of the situation, because he’s Chris Kluwe. Also, what else was he going to do? Beat Kalil up? Kluwe’s a quipper, not a fighter. “So what’s the appropriate way to deal with a bet welsher. Asking for a ‘friend,'” the punter tweeted. He then suggested a couple possible punishments. “So I’m thinking either @Mattkalil can record a video of himself singing the UCLA fight song in a cheerleader outfit,” he said. “OR I’ll put his number up in Craigslist with this ad: ‘SWM looking for discipline. Leather a plus, must work well with farm animals.'”

I don’t even understand that second thing. What an outlandish imagination that Chris Kluwe has. As for Kalil? Pretty poor form by the big man to skip out on a bet. He must make amends somehow. The cheerleader outfit thing sounds good. Maybe he can borrow one of Chilly’s old wigs.
