Now we know why Adrian Peterson missed the team bus and had to take a cab to Soldier Field Sunday. He didn’t hear the alarm. And he didn’t hear the wake up call. He slept through both of them. That’s the explanation Adrian gave reporters on Thursday.

But this just begs the question: why was Adrian so tired in the first place? Up too late playing video games? Too much partying? Or was he just wiped out from carrying the team?

Leslie Frazier seemed at least a little bit miffed by Adrian’s tardiness. He addressed it the other day and said it was “a big deal.” But Peterson was not disciplined for the lapse. Peterson played the whole game against the Bears, running for 108 yards. And fumbling twice.

Those two fumbles were a huge factor in the Vikings’ offensive stinkfest. Was Adrian just not as focused as he should’ve been? Do we need to worry about Adrian’s sleep habits now? Let’s hope he gets a full 8 hours before the Green Bay game. We need him fully rested and locked in. And not fumbling. Definitely not fumbling.
