A little bit of a concern for the Vikings going into Saturday’s huge playoff showdown with the Pukers. Christian Ponder – PLAYOFF QUARTERBACK – has a bum throwing elbow. The elbow is bruised up a bit and apparently Ponder has been having trouble getting it loose. The joint was stiff enough on Thursday for Ponder to sit out most of practice. Leslie Frazier said Ponder mostly did mental prep work on the sidelines while the rest of the offense did its work.

Not to make too big a deal about this, but here’s something interesting Tom Pelissero tweeted right after practice. “First time I’ve seen Frazier talk with Joe Webb and McLeod Bethel-Thompson after practice. Would be stunned if Ponder doesn’t play, though.”

So Ponder should be fine? Then why are you bringing up Frazier talking to his other quarterbacks, Tom? Are you trying to scare people? Maybe Jerome Simpson was right about you. Just kidding. Jerome Simpson is a dope.

We do have to wonder though about Ponder’s physical status. Will he be 100% for this weekend? Will he be able to loosen that arm up in the cold of Lambeau Field? I wouldn’t want to have to play out in that cold with a stiff elbow. Or a stiff anything else. Pain, man.
