Christian Ponder decided before the game that his arm was not good enough for him to play. This forced the Vikings to go to Joe Webb who did not take a snap all season as a passer. The result? Predictable. No passing game with Joe Webb trying to throw. Adrian Peterson was therefore limited. So the offense was not able to produce. This put the defense in a bad spot. The Packers easily took advantage of this situation. They went up 17-3 in the first half. And 24-3 in the third quarter. The Vikings threw up a garbage touchdown in the fourth to make it look good. But this was a rout from the beginning and everyone knew it.

We could take this game apart but what’s the point? Everyone knows where it went south. Ponder ducked out because of his sore elbow. The Vikings were forced to use Joe Webb but he could not throw the ball at all. With no passing game, the Packers defense had no trouble handling Adrian Peterson. Hey Ponder fans! You won. Your guy was the most important person on the team. Without him the Vikings had no chance. Still complaining?

This game ended when the decision was made to sit Ponder. After that it was a trainwreck. Joe Webb never had a shot. The Vikings never had a shot. This game was a disaster from the start. No use dissecting it. The Packers owned the Vikings from the first second. Good night. Good luck Green Bay in the playoffs. For the Vikings? They have to figure a lot of things out. I only have one suggestion for next year. Get a real back-up quarterback. Joe Webb has nothing.

Goodbye for 2013. Congrats Green Bay and the rest of the playoff teams. We’ll have plenty of time to dissect the Vikings. We know what players are good and what players are not. Sayonara.
